PD Dr. Roepstorff Visiting Researcher in Columbia

From August to September, Kristina Roepstorff, one of the leading researchers in the “Network Humanitarian Research (NHF) Research”, is spending two months as a Visiting Researcher at “Universidad de Los Andes” in Colombia at the department of Anthropology, collaborating with the Humanitarian Observatory in Latin America & the Caribbean. The visit creates opportunities for joint research proposals, collaborative publications and broader academic exchange initiatives.

During her stay, Kristina Roepstorff is exploring how different actors contribute to humanitarian action in contexts of displacement and confinement in Colombia and how they work with other organisations and affected communities. Her research addresses challenges of humanitarian access, responding to multiple forms of displacement, forced migration and the localisation of humanitarian action.

The research stay is part of the “Humanitarian Imaginaries” research project funded by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung.
