Kristina Roepstorff is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, where she co-leads a program on humanitarian research funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation. She previously worked as Senior Researcher at PRIO on ethical dilemmas in humanitarian negotiations and has held positions at IFHV (Bochum), the Center for Humanitarian Action (CHA), Humboldt University Berlin, and the Willy Brandt School at Erfurt University. She was a Marie Curie Fellow at University College Dublin, a Visiting Scholar at SWP and Government of Canada Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Simon Fraser University and has taught in the NOHA Master Program since 2008. Since 2015, she has been Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University.

She earned her Habilitation (2023) and PhD (2009) in political science, along with degrees from SOAS and the University of Munich. Her research focuses on humanitarian action, peacebuilding, and forced migration, with regional expertise in Colombia, Italy, Bangladesh, India, and Myanmar, published across academic and policy formats.
